Yes it is a trend, and yes they are planning on it.
It is common to see last minute sell offs at the end of a trading day in a BEAR Market. And this current market is the M.O.A.B device (Mother of all Bears).
By the way, this is an election year and the markets always take a terrible beating during the election process.
If you want to get into the markets today, a good analogy of market conditions would be to imagine yourself on a guided tour of a meat packing plant, and you are the cow.
What you are seeing is Hedge funds unwinding huge positions. They send their sell orders out on a daily basis and the traders hold on to them until the end of the day hoping for a rally. When it doesn’t happen then you see the large sell off at the end of the day.
