Metastock and Tradestation are supposed to be the best, but expensive.
I use Stockwiz for French stocks and end-of-day trading. It’s completely programmable, which is what I wanted, but the programming language is …. primitive.
But it’s free.

Caveat:
- I am still using version 3, although there is a version 4 available
- You still need a service to get your daily stockquotes, which is most likely *not* free I use Stockwiz. It’s completely programmable, which is what I wanted, but the programming language is …. primitive.

tradestation is great because you can backtest your ideas. you need to trade at least 10 round turns in futures or forex or 20k shares/mo and it’s free, otherwise its 100/mo
