I like the idea of the top down approach but here are some of my questions
Should i be picking an industry that is doing the best?
or should i be picking an industry i believe will soon be the best industry?
also how do you compare the company to the industry to see how well it’s performing
THANK YOU!

The vast majority of people who swing trade lose money. In comparison, most people who buy and hold make money. Most of the big names in investing hold their stocks for long periods of time. I have never heard of a famous swing trader with a long term good record. I therefore cannot recommend swing trading at all.
There is a lot of luck in swing trading and you may have some short term success due to luck, but I doubt you will make money over the long run.
