Scalper Trader
If you are a scapler trader you try and take small profits from small price
movements throughout the day, this is a form of day trading but on a micro level, if you are very active you may make anything from 5 to 50, or even hundreds of trades a day.
Of course this type of trading racks up huge commission costs
It is not for the faint of heart, there is no real evidance that you make more as a scalper than any other trading style, it just fits some peoples personality better than other styles
In order to be successful as a scapler you must have:
- A very well defined entry setup
- A strict exit strategy
- Good money management
- A lot of discipline
- An excellent techinical setup in terms of computer, charts, data feed etc
- A lot of stamina
- A lot of time to watch the PC all day during market hours
Because of this scapling is not for most people, but it has it’s advantages:
- Make quick profits and keep them
- Lots of wining trades
- Lower risk
- It’s easier to see smaller market moves
- There are many more smaller moves than bigger ones
Scapling can be done on stocks, futures or the forex market, but there are also some key requirements of the market that you want to scalp:
- It must be very liquid so that you can enter and exit very quickly
- Must have small spreads
- Must have small commissions
The trading course from Top Dog Trading will give you a very good understanding of how the market works, price action, trading waves etc, if you want to become an expert scalper.
